Abstract Background Cytidine monophospho-n-acetylneuraminic acid hydroxylase ( CMAH ) gene associated with blood groups in cats encodes enzyme that converts Neu5Ac to Neu5Gc. Although variations of pedigree have been revealed, the presence/lack them non-pedigree stray is unknown. Therefore, present study aimed investigate and quantity Neu5Gc on erythrocytes (n:12) living ?zmir, Turkey. Also, frequency types was determined 76 including 12 were used for Neu5A/Neu5Gc analysis. Results In total, 14 SNPs detected 5’UTR as well exon 2, 4, 9, 10, 11 gene. Among these SNPs, -495 C > T first time heterozygous type A AB cats, homozygous B cats.
